Sorry I haven't left a wee blog recently. In all honesty, we haven't really done all that much since my last entry. We didn't get the flat that we wanted, which was a big disappointment. Instead, we found a room in a massive sharehouse. It has about 11 people staying there, all around the same age, so we might make a few friends there. It's ran by a guy who works for AJ Hackett, the guy famous for making bungee jumping the craze it is today. The place has a pool (I think it is also a spa), and it has a sauna too. It's a big room we're in, and it has a tv to keep us occupied at night times! The job I got is turning out to be a bit annoying. I worked 1 shift which was alright, and they said they would phone me soon for more shifts. They never phoned the next week at all, not even for Friday and Saturday. I went in on Sunday to see why, and all they said was oops. I'm working Friday and Saturday this weekend, so I guess it's something. I also scored a few shifts of bar work for an agency, so I'm hoping that between the two places I can make enough money to get me by and then save some too. I'm going to look for fruit picking work too, as that starts in September, and should offer full time wages, whilst getting a tan. A win on both accounts I reckon. As Merle has more money than me, finding a job hasn't been as important for her. She's started polishing off her CV (which I typed up) and is going to send it to a few places. It's more for something to do rather than the money for her I think. Thinking of going on a Great Barrier Reef cruise next week. It'll be a day long thing, which allows us to snorkel and dive too. Think Merle even fancies trying the diving now. I'll maybe do a dive, but I'm starting to looking into courses to get my Open Water certificate. Also thinking about getting my advanced certificate while I'm here too. We went to the Royal Flying Doctors visitor centre yesterday. Just as I expected, it was pretty boring, but it was cheap, and I enjoyed the walk. That's about it for now. If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to put it in the site.
