Wednesday 12th Dec

Leaving Melbourne to go to St Kilda for our stay before going to Sydney. We caught a train, thinking it would be at least 30mins journey but to our surprise, it was only 10mins! We found the hostel with no problems, but unfortunately after checking in, we were told that we both are in the separate room. We explained that we prefer to be together in the same room. Unfortunately it was impossible as the hostel was fully booked. It also meant that it was our first night to be in the separate room. However luckily we were able to be in the same room again after 1 night as someone would be checking out then.

We then decided to check the beach out. Unfortunately after looking at the noticeboard at the hostel, it mentioned that it would take at least 20mins to walk there! We weren't impressed after reading on the website when we were searching for the hostels to stay, that it would be at least 5 mins away. So we decided to get a tram there. We waited for a long while and not even one tram came! We gave up and decided to walk around in the town which had plenty of shops for us to browse.

We found a couple of charity shops that were selling good stuff but unfortunately we both came away empty handed. The clothes we found in the shops didn't fit us perfectly unfortunately. We were also looking for any cheap xmas decorations so we could decorate our double room when we get to Sydney to get in the christmas mood! Haven't come across any yet.

we came back to the hostel to have our lunch and relaxed in the back garden. We are starting to enjoy the hostel as its like home away from home. We finally could relax on the sofa in the lounge, watching anything on the tv. We couldn't do that in the previous hostel we stayed in Melbourne as it was very busy hostel, bit like a hotel. The only dissappointment we had with this hostel was the false information about the distance from the beach. So we are now praying that the hostel we are staying in Sydney aren't giving out the false information about the beach distance cos it would ruin our xmas plans!

While Daniel had a shower, Lisa just occupied herself by reading a magazine she found in the previous hostel. After that, we both then retired to the lounge which were showing the Heroes Season via DVD. Unfortunately it wasn't subtitled but we both have seen it before. Lisa just continued reading the book about Steve Irwin while Daniel watched Heroes.

Tomorrow, Lisa got to check out before 10am before moving into Daniel's room for the rest of the stay. So hopefully once we will sort out our laundry which have been needing to be done for so long, we will go to the beach and have a look around.
