Monday Dec 3rd

We woke up late again, leaving us to have almost half a day to do something. We thought that it was time to sort out our plane tickets seeing that it wasn't open over the weekend. So we searched for Qantas Airline Shop and after 10 mins, we found it. After 15mins wait, we explained the situation.

Our original plan was we would get a flight from Melbourne to Cairns and then travel down to Sydney for xmas/new year. Too rushed for us so now we have changed our flight. We would be getting a flight from Sydney to Cairns instead on Jan 4th, meaning we would have to find our way from Melbourne to Sydney ourselves.

The kind lady then explained that it would be saving us money if we change the date/time to fly out from Sydney to South Africa and then home at the same time as it would be all inclusive for one fixed price. We weren't sure what to do and decided to extend our travels to save us changing in the future and money of course.

So we won't be returning back to UK on the original date which was March 1st. Here is the following dates that we have planned to do:

* Just outside Sydney for xmas/new year from Dec 23rd to Jan 3rd

* Leaving Sydney to Cairns on Jan 4th

* Leaving Sydney to South Africa on April 23rd

* Leaving South Africa to home on May 14th

Once that was sorted, we were so surprised to see the weather outside. So Phil, have you been wishing for the rain to be pouring here after we laughed at you about the typical UK weather?! Yep, it have been absolutely pouring down with rain here! We then did feel that it was definately christmas coming up cos of the dark and dull weather!

We then walked quickly in the rain to the Neighbours Merchandise shop to see if we could get the t-shirt, ready for the stars to sign. Unforutnately they were out of our price range. So we ditched the idea and returned back to the hostel so we could get ready for our night out to the pub to meet the Neighbours stars.

The shuttle came and pick us up at 6pm and it was a 30mins drive away. Lisa was hoping to meet Dylan and it have mentioned on the blackboard on the entrance that he would be there. She was excited! While we were queuing up, we were concerned about the trivia night as we wanted to be part of it but it would be impossible to understand the questions. There was at least $2500 worth of prizes to be give away! We explained to the staff and they thought it would be best to put us in the best spot to see the quizmaster.

Once we got to our spot, it wasn't certainly the best spot at all cos it was right at the side of the stage. Lisa then asked about the way the questions were going to be asked. They immediately assumed that we could lipread the questions. we were surprised cos we know it was impossible to lipread from the side of the stage!! We explained again and suggested if it was possible to read the questions. Unfortunately it wasn't due to the questions having the answers below it already. However she offered to find out if there was a better way for us. She never came back!

we were then joined by 2 other girls in our team. We were worried cos we knew that we were unable to help them. After looking around the venue, we noticed that there were plenty of teams which had at least 6 people or more. We felt it was abit unfair on our team, especially for 2 girls!

After waiting for at least 1hr and 30mins for the quiz to start, the quizmaster introduced the 4 neighbours stars. We were ready to take photos, the star came out and we were looking at each other, thinking "Who is he?!!" He can't be in Neighbours! We were dissapointed cos we wanted to see someone we have been watching for a long while. Then another star came out, we had the same impression of "Who is he?!" again! Not a good start for us!! Then finally someone we recongised came out, it was Janelle. She didn't have blonde hairstyle, she have returned back to brunette. The last one was Racheal, she looked very young! Lisa was confused and were trying to see if the 2 characters that she have never seen was Dylan in case he have changed his style. Eventually she knew it wasn't Dylan at all and was so gutted. She then found out that Dylan turned up the week before, so we both have turned up at the wrong week!

The stars were the ones who came to you for the photos and autographs. They did do it at the wrong timing cos that was when the quiz began too! We first met the guy who we didn't know and managed to work out that it was Adam. We pointed out that we were deaf and he seems to be deaf aware. So far, it was good. Had his autograph too.

The quiz was still going and we had no idea what the questions were being asked. The girls in our team actually wrote the questions down on papers so we could help them. However during those time, we eventually worked out that they only did that when they had no answers to the questions, meaning they were very difficult questions for us to answer too! It made us looking like as we were thick as our answers were always "dunno"

The 2nd star came to our table, it was Janelle. she was very bubbly but quite difficult to understand! Got her autograph too.

Then Rachael came along, she was very short and quiet. Looking at the photo of us standing with Rachael, she made us look so much older!

Finally, 4th star came along who we never seen before, it was Steve Parker. He have been drinking so we could tell that he was quite merry! We didn't bother to tell him that we were deaf. Got another autograph out of him.

The quiz finally finished around 11pm. We were quite dissapointed cos we would love very much to take part of the trivia night to win something. And we were quite dissapointed with the choices of the stars. Lisa told Daniel that if she find out that Dylan or at least better stars turns up next week, she would not be very happy bunny!!

We decided to go back to the hostel which we found out that we had to make our way back as there wasn't a shuttle available! Managed to catch a tram back and retired ourselves to bed.
