Friday 18th January
Checked out of our room. We were able to leave our main rucksack in the storage room for free. Our departure for sailing wasn't till 4pm so we had a day to do what we wanted. We wandered around but it was very humid so we returned back to the hostel and waited around till 12noon to check in for our sailing adventure.
Once we checked in, we decided to go to the meeting point as it was a long walk to the marina and we had to wait at least 2 hours before we could board onto the ship. Daniel was hoping that with the weather being nice, the sea will be nice for him for not getting sea-sickness.
Once 4pm arrived, noone from our ship turned up and we waited for another extra 30mins before the staff finally turned up and took us to the ship. It was very tight with spaces. We have booked ourselves into the double room so we were looking for it till we saw it. We weren't exactly impressive as we were told that it would get so hot and stuffy in the evening. We felt it was bit unfair due to the dorms having air con for cheap prices, unlike us!
The ship finally left around 5pm. There wasn't much room for sunbathing or at least to relax on the ship. The only places where everyone could sit are either inside or downstairs so we managed to get a good spot outside on the deck to relax with a can of beer as others were filling the paperwork for scuba diving. We didn't fill it in as we knew that it was impossible for Lisa to do the scuba diving to the previous experience. After 2 hours journey on the ship, we moored near the place called Hook Island.
Dinner were served eventually at 8pm, plenty to be eaten. Once it got dark, we were amazed to see so many jellyfishes surrounding us! It certainly put us off for snorkelling in fear of getting stung!
We were told that the ship will be moving at 6am so we thought it would be a good idea to have an early night, ready for tomorrow's sailing.
The night in our private cabin was bearable, despite with no air conditioning so it must mean that the weather was chilly on that evening.
