Monday 14th January

Time to check out to return back to Townsville for a night before moving onto Airlie Beach. Once we have checked out, we were told that the roads were closed towards Airlie Beach due to flooding.

While we were waiting for the local bus to take us back to the ferry terminal, it was pouring down so hard with rain. You can see the road filling up slowly with big puddles. We were hoping that we would be able to get out of Magnestic Island before we get stuck on the island!

Eventually the local bus arrived, we hopped on with us soaking wet. We didn't have to wait very long for the departure of the ferry. It was a bumpy ride on the way to Townsville. Unfortunately for us, we had to walk for at least 20mins in the heavy rain. It wasn't a nice feeling with dragging our bags around and pulling us down due to its soaking up the rain.

Eventually we found the hostel and dumped our bags. The rain did stop for a short while when we searched for the supermarket for food shopping obviously.

On our return after browsing around in the town, the rain started to pour down again. Before returning back to the hostel, we found a cheap internet access cafe so we went on for a hour.

For the evening, we decided to hire 3 dvds to watch to keep us occupied while it was miserable outside.

Before we did the dvds night, we cooked up a nice proper meal for a change which was sausage cassarole. Lisa wasn't too keen on it and unfortunately she was too full up to finish off. Daniel loved it, enought to finish Lisa's meal!

We managed to watch all the dvds in time before we went to bed. It was a good night!
