Wednesday 31st October

Got up very late after stressful and tiring researching for our N.Z plan. We made our way to the travel desk to enquire for the best way to get around New Zealand. They recommended something like Kiwi Experience or if we wanted freedom, campervan which was $69 per day. After working out, it seems that Kiwi Ex was the cheapest, which we took up for it. However, before we did book it, the staff told us to take up the free day trip around Auckland with Kiwi Ex to get further discount on the passes.

Once that was sorted, we booked ourselves to visit "Minus 5" Ice bar. We made our way there for 3pm slot. We were given a quick instruction, been given a thick jacket and gloves each to keep us warm. We then made our way to the bar, preparing for the coldness to hit us! Boy, it was very cold!!! We also had a free non alcoholic cocktail each which were in the ice glasses too! We weren't allowed to take photos. However they did take photos of us which we paid for to show that we have been there!

Apparently it took 1 month for them to design the ice bar, doing all the ice sculptures etc. They made Effiel Tower, Tiger Face, Penguins doing the ski-ing, Fish etc

We were only allowed to be in the bar for no more than 30 mins. Our hands were getting cold and colder! We left to get warm again outside in the sun!

After the bar, we decided to go to the library to see if they offered free internet as the internet access at the hostel are too expensive for our liking! We couldn't use our wireless laptop as we still have to pay to use it! That would explain why we haven't update our blog lately.

We then found the library and they do free internet but unfortunately all computers were being used. We decided to come back later with our laptop.

After having our tea, we went back to the library, ready to access on our laptop. What we have found that the wireless access are not free! We were very surprised as library are supposed to be there for free and providing information! We gave up and returned back to the hostel. We wasted our time by watching the film called "Flight Plan" (It wasn't subtitled by the way) Since we left USA, we haven't been able to watching anything with subtitles as they don't provide it! :(
