Hi all,
Today i got up about 7am - not much choice as the dorm areas are pretty noisy and some people have slap foot. I met a girl at breakfast called megan who is also travelling on her own so i decided to tag along with her and an english couple to the batu caves, just north of the city.
The batu caves are naturally spectacular but for some reason they have made it into a hindu temple and have strategically placed crazy hindu statues everwhere. We had to climb a massive steep staircase up the top of the hillside to get to the caves and there was a big group of monkeys just waiting to grab food from the puffed out tourists.
Got interviewed but some muslim girls about what i thought about the caves and then they wanted their picture taken with me and megan - celebrities or what?!
10,000 woop noises later and made it safely down the hillside. We also went into the art gallery next door and they seemed to be filming a pop video - it was sooo funny. There was this guy standing on a rock behind the statues, sweating heavily, miming along to this pop tune. I don't think it was going too well!
Got the nice air-conditioned bus back and this malay girl puked on the bus - not good for my sick phobia - yuk! We then went into the shops and had a look in topshop - quite dissapointing and very small. Still, it was a chance to take full advantage of the shopping mall's air-conditioning system!
This evening we went to china town for tea which was good. We then went to a reggae bar for a few drinks.
All in all a good day!
