Hi all,
Yesterday i met up with a girl from N.Z and we headed into town for a look about. It was quite hard getting used to all the attention we got (from males and females). i don't think they see many tourists in the town. Motorists peep and you just to say hi. They mean no harm though they are just really curious (really really curious). Found a big shopping mall and got lost in it for about an hour, some young locals thought it was hilarious when we went up and down in the lift 5 times. We then went for a much needed foot massage and then relaxed in a bar which had big beds on the balcony - didn't really help keep me awake!
Today I woke up with 35 bites on just my legs - grr!I got the bus at 7.30am to sepilok. I was met by a swarm of at least forty guys trying to get me onto their buses. I eventually found the right one and proceeded to sleep for the nxt few hours. I'm quite surprised i managed to sleep because they had this crazy TV programme on with people shrieking 'ranga ranga ranga'(ipod coming in v.handy). We stopped for lunch at this food stall in the middle of nowhere and i got chatting to these two girls from england. After our 6 hour bus journey we got picked up from the main road in a big truck and went to our rest house. It was really nice and peaceful, lots of scary bugs though.
After a while we went to see the orangutans which was amazing! We waited around until everyone had gone and one of the males came really close and chilled out with us for a while. We saw about 10 orangutans which was good.
Had a quiet evening, trying to stay away from all the insects. I tried out my mosquito net and ended up waking up during the night being strangled by it!
Anyways,
Night night.
