Landed safely on the 18th December 2003. Wal and Ged convinced me into joining them for a 'easy' 50-60km ride the next day. Should have known better as the ride was actually only 50km's, but most off it was in the mountains behind Christchurch. Both of them seemed to enjoy seeing me hurt (especially Wal who was leading the way on his MOUNTAIN BIKE!). Mum and Dad arrived on Saturday and we watched our hosts race a small sprint tri on the Sunday morning. Both of them made it look easy (4th & 7th places). Walked the Taylor's Mistake walk along the coast in the afternoon (Wal and Ged ran it of course) which had some pretty spectacular coastal views (look at the photo album). This walk was only 20 minutes out of the CBD of Christchurch too. Better start thinking about Christmas some time soon.
