We left Lake Atitlan at 3pm yesterday and after a boat, shuttle bus and coach we finally arrived in the town which is base camp for Tikal Ruins at 6am!! 15 hours!!! But we didn't stop there. The windiest road in history brought us to one of the most beautiful places we have seen Lake Atitlan is surround by mountains and huge Volcanoes! A 6 hour bus ride from Copan took us over the border in Guatemala to a old town named Antigua, which is a world heritage site. The border was uneventful for us but one couple didn't get a stamp on the way in so had to 'pay a fine' before they were allowed to leave. They wanted $160 per person but ended up taking $100 for the both of them. As soon as we arrived in Antigua we knew we had to stay for 2 nights.
