Today started with a sunshine walk to the hospital.... Now about 7.30am it's around 17/18degrees.... We think that this is warm yeah.... Well you try telling that to the local doctors who are complaining about ot being so cold, wearing jumpers and wrapping up in blankets...! Have you heard of such a thing?! Interesting set of morning cases then a free lunch.... Yes I can smell a freebie a mile off!! A bit of a "discussion" with the undergrad staff about my going ...

So a brief placement for today.... Not a great deal going on, and noone hugely keen to take me under their wing, so I shot straight out to the sun.... How exciting.... Today I went out with the flying doctors.... Arrived at the general aviation at 6.15am to be checked in and weighed.... Sat in the waiting room having a cuppa and snacks overlooking the airfield just to the back of cairns airport.... Watching the plane being checked over and refuelled.... Met the captain.... Woke up today and it is sunny!!! AMAZING! So that means a day off placement!!! A day sunbathing by the lagoon and a BBQ for brunch.... What could get better eh?! Did some lovely reading, sleeping and general people watching today... Had a cracking dinner cooked a la Kat... Sweet chicken... And I've decided that put blond is my favourite lager... An early start.... But by god it's sunny! So excited! Very few clouds in the sky, no wind! Perfect conditions for reef day!!! Yay!!! Also an ironman competition in cairns and port Douglas.... A 3.8km swim 180km cycle and a 40km run..... God these people are fit! Some people we know from the hospital were running it so we watched a little before the boat, but didn't see anyone we knew...
