After Krabi we headed off on another boat to Phi Phi. We were so excited to head to Phi Phi because, apart from everytime I think of thailand i think of the beauty of Phi Phi, after the Tsunami we wanted to see what were the afteraffect of it. We arrived and immediately we liked it. There was a lovely little buzz.. There are no cars on Phi Phi, Just bicycles. We were met with a man from our hostel who was leading a massive trolley. So we threw in our bags and followed him. We were so confused he brought us up lanes, down lanes, in between lanes but immediately I knew i would love the place. There were so many stalls and little cafes and I really liked it. With no cars it was so peacful. After what seemed like a really long walk we arrived at our hostel. Harmony Hostel. It had a dvd player and a nice room so we were happy out. Although I have to admit, I was very jealous of Hannah. she had a blocked nose and if there is one bad thing that i had to say about Phi Phi.. it was that it bloody STANK, our hostel stank and the way to the hostel stank, I really wished i had a blocked nose because otherwise it would have been perfect. That evening we went for something to eat and bought some knock off dvds. We were having a quiet one because the next day was Paddy Day YAH :)

Happy Paddys day. We decided to go to the beach for the day. The atmosphere was brillaint there was green EVERYWHERE. There is an Irish pub in Phi Phi called Jordans and they went all out that day. T Shirts and just green everywhere, I was so excited for a few drinks. When we got to the beach we tried to look for a spot.. however it was hard with all the dirty empty bottles and rubbish. The beach was dirtier than kilkee.. seriously.. who would have thought it, a beach in the most amazing place in the world and its destroyed with rubbish. The actual beach is also like moss.. it really was not nice at all. I did hear afterwards that that was one of the affects of the Tsunami which is fair enough because for such a poor country that is the only bit of evidence to show the devastation the tsunami caused. Really, its unbelievable, the place has no affects of long term damage so hats off to the locals for all the work they have done to maintain the beauty of Phi Phi. I also heard that on the other side of the island was the proper beach but we heard too late so was disappointed to not see it.. oh well we will just have to go back :) ;) anyway we went and got ready and headed for dinner then went to the irish pub.. it was fun but i thought we would meet loads of irish, it doesnt count when u have americans dressed up in green shouting they were irish because their grandmothers brothers wife once went there.. so that was a bit disappointing, We had a great laugh though, We were chatting to a guy form Koh Toa and he must have taken a shine to hannah because she got a free drink out of him.. i was like Hello?? im the Irish one!! anyway we moved across the road to Jordans and there was a good crowd there. It is so funny the amount of people we saw that we had already met in Koh Toa, small world and all that :) We met an Irish guy, from Dublin and started drinking buckets. Another supposed little known fact about Phi Phi is that all the pubs have to close at 1 o clock due to a murder a few years ago so at one o clock we made our way down to the beach. We decided to have a party and were with Swedish, French, Australian, Irish, English and so many nationalities. It was great craic. after a few hours of talking s*** and me seeing my first ever shooting star we decided to venture home... at 8.30!!! Have to say had a great paddys day. Needless to say the next day was a write off.. we debated staying in bed all day but no we fought strong and went out for dinner. we had an early night after that as we had a big day the day after.

Big day today.. we were heading to "The Beach". Maya bay where the movie was filmed. Have to say i was a little worried because the beach on Phi Phi was such a disappointment but we said we would go anyway. We had a lovely day for it. We were picked up at our hostel and along the way we picked up our fellow day trippers. We went down between a few houses and hopped on a long tail boat. Off we went, there were boats going out beside us aswel. First stop was the middle of the ocean for some snorkelling. After a bit of a struggle with the flippers i finally fell(i mean dived in) it was out of this world!! OH MY GOD the amount of fish was so nice. Im not a very strong swimmer and well Ipanic so i didnt stay in too long. Getting out was an experience, everyone knows i dont have long legs on my side so having to yank myself up on to the boat, it just was not happening and after a few too many attempts and showing off more than the others had bargained for i thought i was going to be stuck there for the day. But i eventually got a lift in. Ha next time we went snorkelling I decided to work on my tan!! always a saver option.. We stopped along the way in some really nice beaches and Monkey bay and eventually we arrived ay Maya Bay. It is exactly as it is in the movie, maybe even nicer, it was breathtaking. Everything Thailand should be and more!! We just stood on the beach with the cliffs in around us and were in absolute awe of its beauty. We had the beach to ourselves, We went for a little wander but then just sat on the beach taking it all in. Absolutely amazing!! When we decided to leave the tide was too far out so we had to walk a few hundred meters over coral. Holy s*** the agony, We attempted to walk in our shoes, out of our shoes but bloody hell was it sore. On the way back we stopped and fed fish. One of the Swedes thought it would be funny to feed the fish with his crisps and was shocked when they didnt eat them.. I was afraid he would kill them but he was obviously a little bit thick. From there we stopped the boat for tthe sunset. It really was the most beautiful sunset ever. There was a boat beside us playing music so it was my idea of heaven. We headed home after our perfect day absolutely wrecked and ready to head to Phuket!
