So we hit off from Koh Pangan to Samui, We got the boat over and got a taxi with these 2 Isreali girls absolute lunatics haha hilarious.. They put their Michael Jackson CD in the car and had a mini party. Had to laugh out loud when she wanted to take the taxi drivers ID card and keep it in her wallet, He really enjoyed them to say the least. Anyway we were dropped off at Moonlight Hostel which was where we had booked and paid full price for. When we got there an English guy was like oh ya i remember you there is no room for you here and that the company were rubbish and they dont work for him anymore, myself and hannah looked at each other and were soooo pissed off but he said he had a friend up the road and rang them and they had a room. Off we went bags and baggage over a hill and found the place, the room was massive and after coming from the slums of the bungolow in Koh Pangan we couldnt believe our luck when we saw the room, massive shower 2 big beds, hot water, tv air con and a fan we thought oh great. Anyway we got ourselves settled and decided to have a wander around the town which was about 5 min walk from us, We must have been staying at the posh side because the resorts on our way in were out of this world, they would give any 5* irish hotel a run for their money, they even had their own lollipop men, impressive. We went into the town and it is massive. anything you could look for, it was more like a spanish resort than Thialand.. Mcdonalds everywhere and burger King. we went looking for a much needed camera and to my amazement we didnt find anywhere that sold them, That night we went back into town and had dinner and went for a few drinks, Samui is supposed to b the party island but we didnt really find that many places and mainly because it wasnt on the beach we just landed ourselves in a pub that sold 2 for 1 buckets and had a few drinks. We met this welsh guy and i had to laugh because he sounded so like normal from Fireman Sam and everyone knows how obesssed i am with fireman sam haha. After that we were talking to two ravers from Oxford was a bit apprehensive about them at the start but after a few bucketsin true Siobhan can save the world style me and one of them had mastered a plan to get back his daugher.. Best friends we were ha. We then went to an outdoor club then called Green Mango, had a bit of a boogie and then went home. 5 mins now felt like an hr home, def longest journey of my life.
Anyway next day we went in search of the beach. It was hard to fine as there were so many private beaches for the resorts. but we said we would make ourselves small and sat down, waiting for someone to ask us to move but we were fine. The beach was so amazing it was so clean and so calm and not too hot so we sat out for a few hours. That night we went walking into town saw this really nice restrauant called Top Ten it was happy hour so we were like oh well this might b within our price range, it was sooo cheap it was a gormet place and it was sooo amazing, I ended up having seafood risotto, ha who would have thought it, a far cry from supermac chips. We got free rolls and starter and free water. Wwe were like the poshest backpackers ever. The fish was so perfect. After that we were content enough and happy out we had an early night as the next day was the full moon party so we had a great night of watching thai tv and were ready for the party.
The next day we went to a neighbouring village called Lamai as the place i had booked the first place was there and i still hadnt heard back from my email about my missing money, After we went in and demanded to have the money in we decided to walk around for a bit we found the beach but it wasnt very nice, the sand was rough and it was not as nice as what we were used to. Anyway we got a quick bite to eat and got ready for the full moon. The Full Moon party is on Koh Phangan but after word of mouth we decided to stay in Samui as its safer. We were getting picked up at half 9 and after the longest bus journey ever (about 10 mins but we had screaming swedes with us we got off and had pounding headaches). The boat was packed so we missed the first one so we settled on the beach with our plastic bottles of gin and vodka and watched fireworks and men with fire works it was ful already, A man made us line up in single file as only 40 were allowed on at a time me and hannah were 39 ad 40 when the swedes jumped in infront of us and we lost our place we thought haha pay back and ratted them out and hopped on the boat and gave a snigger as we pulled away. About half an hr later we arrived at a pier and we got off, neither of us having a clue what to expect but we paid our 100baht in which is 2 euro and we saw loads of stalls selling buckets everywhere, we got a bucket then bought floresent paint and went into a shop and put the paint all over us, we looked like proper ravers with our lovehearts haha. anyway we made our way down to the beach and it was so cool. So many people, all kinds of music, flame throwers fireworks basically everything you would expect at a full moon party. We had a few drinks and then had an attempt to dance in the sand it was all a bit crazy to be honest. At 5am we decided we better get the boat back. We went back to the pier and were waiting for the boat when Hannah lost her shoe. AGAIN. In a James Bond move she jumped off the Pier tried to save her shoe and everyone were like she is so going to fall ha but her and the shoe arrived save back on theh Pier, We were waiting ages for the boat when a nice english man approached us and said there was room on their private speed boat as 2 people had dropped out, now i know mammy said never accept a life from strangers but hadnt mentioned a boat so after a few seconds of waying up the pros and cons we decided to take them up on the offer. So we hopped on and the guy and his scousers friends and a girl were ready to go when 2 lady boys hopped on ha ha hilarious. anyway they were harmless so allowed to stay. When we arrived back on Samui i was lastoff the boat they boys wanted to get closer to the shore as they were not able to swim and were afraid of the water. seriously what ever happeed to real men!!!! Hannah hopped off and it was so shallow i hopped off forgetting i was about a foot shorter than her and got soaked ha after the boat was moved the little boys eventually got off the boat. We soon lost them. We went to Burger King and after hilariously avoiding the men again with an audience of early thai risers laughing at 2 girls hiding behind polls and running around the place we finally made tracks home.
The next day we woke up on the afternoon soooo tired and well we didnt move from our beds all day until dinner where we went back to Top Ten again. we splashed out on beef and venison as all backpackers do. Had an early night and headed off to Koh Tao. Samui was good but prob see the same in Spain but still the beaches are amazing.
