Today is our last day in Cairns.  We had a great day yesterday and witnessed the closing ceremony of the Cairns Festival.

We watched a rubber duck race, which wasn't exactly a race as they had to use powered blowers to get them to move down the lagoon!!!

We also watched the street parade on the evening which was really good, loads of floats and local kids dressed up.  The main attraction was one of the security guards trying to keep the road clear, he was hilarious.  Orange jumpsuit tucked into his army boots chasing people along the street...and shouting if they dared to cross...

We then watched a fireworks display over the water.  It was really good.

Today we have spent the day relaxing by the lagoon until its time to catch our flights.
