We spent Monday around the New Zealand Outposts at the north western part of the battlefield, past the Commemorative Site and fairly close to North Beach. The New Zealand Trail up to Chunuk Bair starts/finishes in this area. Our Kiwi team member had a real spring in his step throughout the day.

The views from the tops of the outposts overlooking the Aegean Sea and the island of Gokceada are quite spectacular. It was a perfect day for our work, which was pretty productive. We were joined by a dog for much of the day. He was extremely friendly and kept lying down just where we wanted to do some measurements. His comprehension of English was not good, so we had a bit of difficulty persuading him to move.
