Our day was spent at Warwick Castle. We arrived around 10am to a sunny but slightly chilly day. We wandered to the new play area, which looks awesome, but there were already kids on it so we thought we probably shouldn't push them off!
We looked through some of the exhibitions, including The Kingmaker (where Siobhan was a bit scared in parts and had to hold Emma's hand...okay tightly squeeze Emma's arm..) and Royal Weekend (much more sedate). Then we decided to go for lunch but there were a coach load of young rugby players from Nudgee (bloody Aussies) so it took a while to get food.
After lunch, there was a big bird talk and flying demo on the Oak Lawn...it was starting to rain though but we decided to take a squiz any way. He started by showing us Mouse, the golden eagle, so named because he was the smallest and quietest of 3 young ones they got at the same time...not any more!! Apparently, Mouse is a little bit psycho so can't be flown when there are people around...he has a taste for the bosses head so is mainly just used for hunting.
Next was a harrishawk. He was much smaller and quite noisy but flew around a bit coming back to the guy for food. He was talking about how much the bird doesn't mind people as they are trained to come and he walked out and stood right in front of Emma, who had to video camera going, and the bird flew down and landed right in front of us. We were hooked and you can do your own bird flying for a bit extra so Emma and I did that. It was awesome.
We were however dripping after this so we had a quick look through the dungeons, which weren't as scary as last time...must have been the people I was with =P... and then went back to Michael and Pat's for dinner there with them and the girls...I won Buzz twice, much to Emily's disgust...I'm not allowed to play any more =(..and then we met up at the Holyhead for drinks not getting home till very late....
