Aloha!
Mahalo for the messages. This will be the last blog from overseas =( as we are leaving today...
Anyhow, Wednesday, Emma and I went to the Polynesian Cultural Centre. They have exhibits and people from different regions of Polynesia that you go through with activities and presentations. Then we ate at a luau. The food was great!! And the entertainment was really, really good too!
Afterwards, they put on a show called Horizons which was like a Polynesian version of Riverdance with dancers, musicians and singers from all the different countries. It was pretty good but a very long day!
On Thursday, Emma and I went kayaking and snorkelling on the northeast side of the island. It was a really windy day but Emma and I were extremely proud that in the 4 mile round trip to Mono Nui Island, we only tipped the kayak 3 times and twice was because of a wave! It was a really good day and we saw some great beaches although got a little bit sunburnt =P
Friday morning we got up early and headed out to Pearl Harbour for a tour of the USS Arizona memorial. It is well worth a visit and they've done a great job keeping the place very solemn and peaceful. We got to meet 3 survivors of the Pearl Harbour attack - they were signing autographs! We then did a tour through Honolulu town centre before heading back to meet Tara for lunch.
We headed to Dukes for the last hurrah on Hawaii. We are now waiting for the shuttle to the airport...we're so sad to see it go but Tara is so excited to get home!
See most of you soon!
