It's lovely being in Melbourne, or Warragul to be exact, which is on the outskirts of Melbourne but is lovely nonetheless. It's not as hot, I'm in a proper house, and have two crazy dogs to deal with and a very intelligent cat - all three of whom are my friends pets!
My friend April and her hubby live in Warragul with Mr Bingley (the cat), Benton the dog, and Bubbles the dog. Didn't really do much on Saturday apart from get myself oriented as to where I was and get used to the crazy pets! Benton seems to like licking my ankles, I have no idea what that's about!! I hope he just doesn't start nibbling on them thinking that they're some tasty bones....
April and myself went up to Mount Baw Baw yesterday as there was a special Australia day festival on all weekend. (Australia day is the 26th of January). We didn't get there until about 2pm, and the festival was meant to go on until 4pm but there was only some music playing and one stall there! The main day of the festival was the day before, but we still expected there to be a few things still going on! Bought a nice bindi bindi pot though, which has a kangaroo on it. A bindi bindi pot is a small ornament basically, though these pots can be put in the microwave and the dishwasher!! It's a hand blown little pot, hand crafted, and hand painted by an aboriginal artist.
We still had some lovely walks as even though Mount Baw Baw is a ski resort (yes, a ski resort in Australia) it's still very pretty and green in the summer. We made our way back to Warragul today, in the afternoon after going on another couple of walks in Mount Baw Baw before going to a place called Noojee for lunch.
Fed some alpaca's on the way home as well, as there's a cute little alpaca farm on the way back to Warragul. They're pretty cute and fluffy (though one of them had recently been balded - he looked a little strange next to the fluffy ones!) and apparently really like to eat roses - who knew?
Now just hanging out, and trying to sort out my photos to put up!
