I'm in New Zealand, yay!
After a bit of a hassle at the aiport, I'm finally here!! It really should be made clearer that you can't go to New Zealand without buying a return ticket if you're not a resident. I found this out, after queuing at the check-in desk for about 45 minutes. Great. So, off I had to trundle to the sales desk to buy a return ticket. Honestly. Good thing it wasn't too expensive, though if I'd bought a ticket where I could change my return date, it would have cost me twice as much!! Lordy. So, I'll be returning to Melbourne on the 6th of March.
Not seen much of NZ so far as arrived quite late. It's also 2 hours later than Melbourne, so I'm still terribly confused about what time it is where!! I have a dual clock on my phone, but I think that's gone a bit wonky bonky with all the time zone changes I've shuffled it through!!
So, I think I'll orientate myself around the town centre tomorrow (hopefully I won't buy too much but there are some really nice shops around here....) after hopefully having a bit of a lie in. Staying with my friends in Melbourne was really great, but my friends husband is really noisy in the morning, and what with two boistrous dogs (that I'm already missing!!) I haven't been able to have all the sleep that I'd like!!
So, it's 9:30pm here, so I think I'll faff about for a bit and then get into my pyjamas and hopefully get some sleep. I'm sharing my 4-bed dorm room with two Swedish boys (haven't actually seen them but read their luggage labels!) so I wonder if they'll be out boozing and will wake me up at sparrow's first cough?! If they read my luggage label, they might think I'm Swedish too!! They're in for a surprise when they see me :D
