Zvi Josef's Travels
After a rather early start, we arrived at Incheon airport in 50 minutes, apx. 2 hours before our flight to Tokyo.
We then went to the huge check-in line, only to realize after a couple of minutes, that since we've had an web check-in (DO THAT!!!), we could go to counter C16 and check-in in less than a minute.
Then we had a 10-minute queue for security and another 10 minutes for immigration.
The duty free area was not spectacular and after an eventless flight we landed in Narita airport.
We then bought the 15US$ train tickets to Shinagawa station and started the 90-minute ride to our hotel.
Upon check-in, we were assigned a suite (which was a 3-time upgrade from the basic room we got using IHG point). The suit was great, on the 28th floor, but its living room was STINKING of cigarettes, although we were told it was a non-smoking suite.
We then went to explore Ginza, visited the Sony showcase building, the Kabuki theater and a lovely garden.
Tokyo's metro and train system can be a handful, but we managed to master it quite quickly (with a rather sharp learning curve).
Upon arriving to the hotel we were moved to a smaller (yet great!) room until the non-smoking suite is available and got the entire minibar as compensation plus a breakfast, which was not originally included with our rate.
Tomorrow we were supposed to take a 2-hour train to Nikko, but we will change our schedule for a more peaceful and restful day. :)
