Guten Tag!
We spent a full day at sea yesterday that turned into one of the most relaxing days we've ever allowed ourselves to spend. Starting with breakfast "Al Fresco" on the deck of the ship, and the rest of the afternoon overlooking the shimmering North Sea and (evenutally) The Baltic. If it's possible, we got better tans in SCandinavia... than anywhere? Must have been the close(r) promiximity to the sun UP here.
Land Ho!
We arrived on the beaches of Northern Germany - "Germany's Bathtub", the coastal sea town of Warnemunde (Varn-eh-moon-dah)...sehr schone! WE'll get back ehre later. First, we hopped on a bus to the Olde town of Gustrow for a castle viewing, and walk around the town - established in 1228. Yes. 12! SUch a beautiful, quaint, typically German Mecklenberg (the province) town.
We dined as Germans. A Bratwurst BBQ, with salat and brot. *Photos are coming! Photo uploading is somewhat more difficult in the ocean!
Then back to Warnemunde for the afternoon, at the beach. The town is spotted with food vendors, little shops and cobblestone streets. Ich liebe Warnemunde! No wonder, most of Germnay considers this the vacation destination of choice. The beach was miles of white sand, piers and lighthouses looking out at the Baltic sea and port.
Tomorrow, another at sea day before hitting the sights in Talinn, Estonia!
Best to all at home, we've uploaded a sampling of pictures to the album. Take a look, we'll upload more soon.
Until Talinn,
Chris and Jude
