Day 14

We were up at 6 to finish packing and catch the minibus, though we needn't have bothered because it didn't turn up till 7:45 The guy put our rucksacks on the top of the bus and I was a bit worried that they were going to fall off because the driver was speeding in order for us to make the ferry on time. Luckily we got their just in time and the ferry journey was quite pleasant (with surprisingly very comfy seats). We changed ferries at Koh Phi Phi and the second boat was not so nice but the journey went quite quickly. Once in Koh Lanta we got a different kind of tuk tuk to the hotel (it was basically a motorbike with what looked like an old kids climbing frame attached to it for the passengers to sit in). Our hotel, Lanta Thip house, is really nice and the room is huge, but it is a little bit out of the way. We did take a walk to the nearest beach, which was pretty but very rocky (so not one for swimming at) and had one reggae bar which was full of spaced out hippies. We now have another 3 days in Lanta, but I don't think we will be doing much but relaxing on the beautiful beaches !
