Day 62, 63 and 64 Our bus trip from the highlands to Melaka went well and we arrived late that afternoon. Our guesthouse (Apa Kaba) was more like a homestay in a traditional Malaysian house than a hostel, which was nice. Days 60 and 61 We left Langkawi at 6:00am in order to get the 7am ferry. The fun began once we arrived back on the mainland as we were informed the bus due to take us to Ipoh wasnt there and we must get another bus to meet the one we needed in Alor Star. After an hour we got our bus to Ipoh (2 hours from the Highlands) which arrived only an hour behind sechdule (not bad for Asian standards). Day 56, 57, 58, and 59 We got a very early ferry from Penang to Langkawi which took 3 hours. Our hotel (Azio) was in Kuah Town, which wasn't close to the beaches so we had to get a taxi. As we arrived early in the morning we decided to head to Chenang Beach for the day. We had been told this was the busiest beach on the island, but we were pleasantly surprised to find there was lots of space on the nice white sand. It was really hot and we both got burnt....AG...

Days 53, 54 and 55 After our overnight train from KL we caught the 15 minute ferry from the main land to Penang island. Days 49, 50, 51 and 52 We arrived in Kuala Lumpur in the evening, and on time despite our flight being delayed by an hour. We stayed at a hostel called Sunshine Bedz, which was nice even though it was our first shared bathroom in Asia.
