Days 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22
We left Lanta Thip after lunch to catch the ferry to Ao Nang, Krabi. We were a little creeped out on the journey to the ferry port by two 60 year old American men with their 20 year old thai companions. The ferry took longer than the expected 2 hours, as the Thais had confused two boats and so half the people on board were going to the wrong place. They solved this through a mid-sea exchange of passengers (madness!). When we got to Ao Nang we had a free transfer to our guesthouse, Baan Purr. The guesthouse wasn't as nice as the Lanta Thip, and was more expensive, but it was clean enough and we did get breakfast included. We headed out for dinner in Ao Nang, which was busier than Lanta, but we liked it because it because it felt more like a holiday destination, and it wasn't as sleazy as Phuket.
The next day we headed to the famous Railay beach (known for rock climbing and its pretty scenery). We caught a longtail boat, which was pretty scary as the water kept coming over the side (Jamie thought it was going to sink on us), but got their safe enough. After arriving at Railay west we set out to find the iconic bay with the limestone outcrops in the sea. We crossed to Railay east and from there we walked to Phra Nang Beach, and on the walk we spotted two wild monkeys! The beach was beautiful with really soft, white sand but it was quite busy. For lunch we had BBQ corn sold from a long boat in the sea. That evening we went to one of the many Italian restaurants in Krabi (honestly you would think were in Italy!), and then sat in a reggae bar to watch Liverpool embarrass a greedy Spanish goat (Jamies words not mine). That night I was really poorly so didn't get much sleep, and the next day I felt even worse so we decided to stay in so I could get some sleep!
Once I was feeling slightly better we headed to the beach in Ao Nang for the next couple of days to just chill out. The beach wasn't the best was quite shingly but it wasn't too busy, and we were able to grab some shade. There was also cheap pancakes near by so need I say more. That night we headed to Seafood street to have BBQ fish, it was quite expensive but the white snapper was yummy. We then booked our journey to Samui for the folliowing day.
We got up early in the morning as our pick up was at 10am and although Thai timekeeping isn't the best we didn't want to risk missing them. The trip was very long!!! due to unreliable and the most unorganised people in the world. We were due to arrive in Koh Samui at 4pm but it was quarter past 7 by the time we actually got there. It was also a different port and ferry to what we were originally told. We were picked up by our hotel, Samui reef view resort and quickly arrived at our poolside bungalow. The room was huge and we got a nice porch to sit out on too.

Surin Beach Hotel Thank you nice article. I am someone who really love Thailand. Last month I’ve been to Surin Beach and like this place very much because this beach is quiet, white beaches and crystal clear waters. Surin Bay Inn is the great accommodation, i stay here. It’s just like a happy family, everyone there is so nice and hospital. I am sure, i will come back. SEE YOU PHUKET
