Adios San Diego!

Now on our way to Scottsdale Arizona.

San Diego was a nice pretty city on the water - lots of naval influence with both a base and training school in the city.

First night of Contiki (Wednesday) had dinner at d*** Last Resort where the theme is to treat the customers like crap! Loads of fun & they had us dressed in oversized bibs and paper chefs hats with things like "i have sex with strangers" written on them!

Questions to the wait staff were met with 'wadda ya want' and loads of back chat - Tanya was cheeky with them and ended up getting dragged on her chair to the other side of the restaurant and left in the 'naughty' corner!

Next our tour leader set up a private area at a swanky club for us - charged $50 a head and put on bottles of booze for us.

We had our own bar girls that were all size 6, super hot & dressed in bustiers & minis. (Just realised I didn't get pics of them - sorry guys!)

It was pretty cool place and good chance to mingle with our new group and the beautiful people - San Diegos version anyways.

We had fun mixing and met all sorts - some cool, some jerks, and some claiming to be Muhumad Alis nephew?!  Also more Mexicans so practiced my Spanish - think Im more coherent drunk - go figure?!

We did the zoo yesterday morning which was a bit average (but so was I so that may have had some thing to do with it!).

Went down to USS Midway (a retired aircraft carrier) after which was awesome to see!

We did an audio tour of the ship which included all areas from engine room to the tower on top - also quite a few planes on board too which you can have a look around in a few of them.

It was one of the ships used in the Vietnam war and they're very patriotic & proud of that.

Its quite upsetting and makes you damn angry though when you've seen the aftermath in Vietnam - a country side still littered with B52 bomb craters & chilling photos of the victims & devastation (at the war museum in Saigon).

Anyway on a cheerier note - we headed off next to get a feed and asked some local African American gals where a cafe was ... Now this story is funnier in person when you can do the accents but here goes.

"You wan a restaurant, well Subways a restaurant - we just came from there its good food!"

Tanya replied no we were more after a cafe?

"Yeh Subways a restaurant - you can eat there and everything uhu"'.

I replied that we were actually looking for a place we could get coffee too ...
"Oh well there's starbucks just down the street!"

So we gave up and found a Hard Rock Cafe down the street :0)

A few more interesting American facts:

Pedestrian crossings at lights - don't have sound so we keep missing the lights!
Beautiful people - I swear there are so many hot people in California!!! I swear Brad Pitts double rode past us on a skate board yesterday!
Thongs - are underwear only here! A girl on our tour was shopping with her big blokey boyfriend and yells out to him accross the store - 'Honey, I'll have a look for some thongs for you!' Apparently he went bright red and got quite a few cheeky grins from onlookers!
Mexican food - is everywhere, is cheap, is good! Had it for lunch yesterday, dinner last nite, lunch again today - may need to stop soon or move to middle America!
