Hiya all!
Well you wouldn't believe it but here I am on a local bus at 6 .45am, on my way back to my lodge after watching the sun rise over the Grand Canyon.
I have to confess my eyes are a bit moist as it truly is an amazing site!
Hold up! Just heard someone say 'deer' so stopped to take a pic out the bus window.
Also got some great pics of a squirrel yesterday thanks to Tanya throwing one some food when you're not supposed to (always the rebel!).
Now off the bus at the Bright Angel Lodge ordering coffee - my large soy cappacino has now become a double shot soy latte after a bad experience at the Coffee & Bean in San Clemente, when after waitin 10 minutes for my coffee I was served with a cup of foam!
"Sorry it took so long maam but it's hard to froth all that milk".
It took all my strength and good manners to not say, "Well d*** head it's because you're supposed to put milk in it and only a third froth!"
You can take the girl out of Australia but you can't take the Australian out of the girl! (We've needed to say that a lot!)
Well anyways it's the best coffee I've had in a week and will upload my coffee and canyon shot to the blog!
Also by the way all pics on Facebook so far are from iPhone only as haven't been to an Internet cafe yet - have some amazing shots on my camera and think I'll end up spending the first couple of days after I get back photoshopping them all to make them really pop :0)
Okay now on the bus headed to Vegas where I'm hoping to party all night with besty Kara and her partner Matt.
We keep missing each other by hours -noticed on Facebook that she was in San Diego for the day when we'd left that morning. Then she emailed to say she was coming to Grand Canyon for a day trip from Vegas and we've just left.
We better catch up in Vegas biatch! Or 'betch' as the Californian gals say :0)
So last time I updated we were on our way to Scottsdale Arizona - good trip as stopped at a servo where 2 bus loads of Marines had also stopped, so made sure we got pics with them!!!
They were very reserved but polite, oh and damn hot in those uniforms (think 'Jarhead' if you've seen the movie - no Jake Gyllenhall though! And yes this confirms I definitely do have a uniform fetish - growr!!!).
Scottsdale was yuppyville - very nice looking place but the bars were full of jocks and those size six gals again in skimpy dresses (how many boys reading this just opened another window to google cheap flights to the US?!).
Went next day to Sedona where we did a jeep tour to the red rocks with some cow boys. Country Tony if you're reading this then this is exactly the sort of stuff you're planning to do at you're awesome extreme 4wd park in Loveday South Aus (by the way that was a plug for Tony's park ;0) ).
The ride was heaps fun with them telling us the history of the area and rattle snake and bush adventure stories as we went.
Grand Canyon was amazing and did a chopper flight, 1.5 mile hike down the canyon wall, and also have sunset in addition to sunrise pics.
By far and away the most beautiful sunset in my life!
Anyways must get going as need to rest for Vegas ...
Love to y'all!
xoxo
More Americana Interesting Thangs:
No helmets -are they freaking insane!!! In Arizona have spotted plenty of people looking hot on thier Harley's with thier sexy b**** on the back. Looks great until you come off at 100 - eek! Some do wear helmets still though - so they're not all insane!
Hot hair - no humidity - no frizz - Tanya and I are loving how our hair is looking in the desert.
Temperature - it's fn hot in the desert!!! Almost worth it though for the hot hair!
