Hey y'all!
Well the states has been just super!
Saturday we hired bikes and checked out Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach.
Venice is everything you thought it would be with the muscle beach men flexing thier biceps for the camera and entertainers like the old black guy with a cardboard sign on him announcing himself to be the worlds lonliest drunk and singing "Jingle bells jingle bells I wanna get drunk" in hope someone will flip a fee coins his way!
Also plenty of beautiful gals in bikinis and buff bare chested boys strutting thier stuff in the passing parade begging for attention.
From there we headed to Long Beach where we are again tonight living the youth beach culture with Tanyas cousin, Max and his mate who share a room to save money on rent so they can spend more on partying!!!
So last nite after an American BBQ meal at Lucille's we waddled out for a nite on the town!
Besides the cheap food another great thing about America is the cheap alcohol - yeeha!
After trying a few different places we ended up at the V Bar where Dead Kennedys Holiday in Cambodia was playing as we walked through the door and a round of 4 drinks, all "hard liquor" was only $12 + tip!
We had an awesome nite and met some great fun local gals who even shouted me and Tanya a shirt branded with the bars name :-).
Unsurprisingly we all didn't wake up feeling so good this morning and of couse vowed to take it easier for the remainder of the trip!
After brekky in a diner, then a walk round the shops we headed over to where Max works and he and a co worker took us out in the bay for a couple of hours sailing - very cool way to spend the arvo!
Also been enjoying our other mode of transport for this leg of the journey - a push bike :-) Been great exercise getting to the bars and dinner on the bikes while Max takes his skateboard - had more Mexican and Margaritas tonight and been enjoying practicing my dodgy 'australian' Spanish on Max or anyone else who will listen.
Adios amigos!
Buenas noches xo
