Well off we've headed on our Contiki trip with a bus load full of girls and only a handful of boys!

Too many Aussies as usual but we've befriended a nice UK girl who's travelling alone.

We're in San Diego right now and have done a harbour cruise and some shopping.

We had a great relaxing couple of days down at San Clemente (got a tshirt so can spell it right now!) with Max and his friends Kevin and Nina.

Kevin is exactly what we pictured Californian Surfers to be from Point Break - very cool guy and his lovely wife Nina was also heaps fun. So over tequila shots, black russians & mohitos we all clicked right away!

San Clemente is about 1.5 hours south of LA, has a great surf beach and quaint little pier - have some very awesome sunset shots from there which are sure to make it to my hallway wall :-)

Anyways must run and party but will leave you with these ...

USA Interesting Facts:

Medical marijuana - it's decriminalised in California so there's clinics popping up all of the place where you can get a script very easily if you suffer from an illness they consider it will treat - the dispensary also associated with the clinic has around 100 different types from you to chose from.

Fat people - no where near as many as we expected! Apparently it's a bigger issue in middle America (when you get away from all the beaches & vain people!)

Eating - they served donuts as part of our continental breakfast this morning! There are plenty of salads though and some of the best I've had. Portion sizes are large but they let you 'take home' or you can get kids meals :-)

Santa Monica Fire Department - some of Americas finest! I would have a pic but we thought it a bit disrespectful to stop him mid minor emergency down on the beach. Apparently they all look damn fine but word is from Nina, just like many of the locals are in Santa Monica they're all gay :-(

Alcohol price - so we tell Max we need alcohol and a chemist - perfect he says takes us yo the chemist as thats where alcohol is the cheapest! How cheap? Gallon (1.75L) Smirnoff Vodka $16.99!!!
