We arrived in Rio half an hour late after our flight was delayed leaving Florionopolis.
The transfer Zoe arranged through Tucan Travel wasn't there to meet us, so she went off in search of contacting them.
Over an hour later after talking to many people, having to buy an expensive phone card to contact them, not being able to even reach them on an emergency number and then losing her debit card in the process - we still had no transfer!
I went to change the remainder of my US dollars as couldn't access my money with Suncorp after trying for a week ...
Each time i tried to access it meant a special trip to the internet cafe, as the 'Loan Cashback' feature, is not available on the iphone version. I would then log in only to receive a message only when accessing this feature, to advise they were doing 'Overnight System Maintenance'!
Too bad half way around the world, their night is my day, and I had almost run out of money!!!
When I returned, Zoe already over Rio, still couldn't find her card & thought she'd ask to see if she left it at a counter she' been at, and also book a new transfer to our hotel.
She came back a lot chirpier, with a new voucher in hand for us to get a transfer and debit card too!
Both our moods picked up after the long wait, knowing the people of Rio aren't so bad, as apparently someone found her card on the ground and had handed it in!
Finally we're on our way to our hotel in Flamengo! We arrive, get our luggage out of the car ... oh hang on it's the Argentina Hote! Slight communication error! Should have been Regina! Damn accents! Bags back in the car and onwards ...
