Shaun on the Road
I have covered a lot of distance since I wrote last, so here is a little update. I left Japan as planned on the evening of the 3rd, flying into Melbourne. Probably a good thing. You can go bankrupt very fast in that country.
Landed in Melbourne on the 4th in the morning and hung out in the city for a day and a half. A cool place, but I think it would be better in the summer. Winter there is nothing like it is in Canada, but it still isn't warm by anystretch. Nice city, it actually reminded me of home, or more correctly, it is more like home than Asia. I rented a car and spent two days driving along the Great Ocean Road. What a great drive that was. The sites along the way are amazing, the road is a lot of fun to drive, and getting behind the wheel of a car again was great. I miss driving. I only drove on the wrong side of the road once. No accidents for me! But the road is increadible. Often I would just pull off to the side of the road and watch the surf come in.
Spent a night in Melbourne and today (sunday) I flew over to Perth. I'll be here in Western Australia for a week or so, or however long I feel like it, before going to Brisbane and covering part of the east coast. I'll write you from there.
