Shaun on the Road
I left Paris a few days ago and headed to a town called Pontarlier, which is near the Switzerland, where I stayed with friends of a friend. It was good again to be at someones house and not have to worry about everything that you have to when at a hostel, like: will my room mates be freaks? Do they stink? or snore? or both? Will they invite others to share there bed with them? Will they come in drunk and then throw up all over the floor? And the list goes on.
I stayed in Pontarlier for longer than I was hoping to because I had trouble rescheduling my flight, but it turned out all right and I took the night train to Barcelona and got here today (the 5th) in the morning. I am glad to be back in Barcelona. I think it is the coolest city in the world. There is just a lively atmosphere, the city is clean, there is lots to see, the architecture is astonishing, and there are people just milling about everywhere. Some pretty cool buskers too. I learned that if I ever become a busker, I have to learn how to do something unique. Strumming a guitar just doesn't cut it anymore. But the real money is in those street casinos. This is were there is a guy who has three boxes and a ball under one of them. He moves the boxes around and you have to guess which box the ball is under. I saw a guy loose 300 Euros on one guess. Ouch!
I fly to Athens tomorrow, and will only spend a short time Greece, but it should be good anyway.
