Ok so trying to get out of Madrid proved a little difficult: no trains, flights or buses under 200 euros! We rented a car and pretty much winged it, by some fluke we managed to get onto the motorway and drove all the way to Barcelona - took about 6 hrs in all. Barcelona flew by, we had a good 6/7 days there but spent a lot of it treking back and forth on the metro, going to the train and police station. Sadly Lucy had her bag stolen when we were on the beach and lost her digital camera, a couple of cards and some euros but not all was lost as luckily she had not taken her passport or mobile with her that night. Great nightlife and stayed in a really nice place (Pension Segre) I'd really reccomend it as it is in the heart of the Barri Gotic area close to boutiques and bars and restaurants, it has cheap and chatty accommodation and a really lovely man running it We're planning to go to Italy next and stay there until the end of August in the hope of finding some work, can't wait to get there as we both love the place...
