Today we struggled with technology. Spain looks to be an early adopter of technology, it is everywhere, we look like we are in the Stone Age in North America. We started our "techno struggle" by attempting to purchase a guided tour of Segrata Familia at a ATM machine. We were doing this miraculous feat because the SF website was down and the concierge was unable to bridge the techno gap for us. We were able to navigate the numerous prompts on the ATM only to discover that the machine was not happy with Canadian credit cards and decided to reject ours. OK so from here we went to tourist information (low tech) and were able to not only purchase a guided tour of SF but also a Hop on Hop off bus tour of Barcelona. We toured Barcelona by topless bus ( we were not topless the bus had no roof) for two hours followed by a stunning lunch of cava, oysters, gazpacho, and cod cheeks, (who knew cod had cheeks) and octopus, a very Barcelonian treat. Barcelona is a clean modern city by any standard. The city has been around for centuries and therefore has tons of history and historical buildings. Their hosting of the 1992 summer games provided the catalyst to modernize the civic infrastructure to 21st century standards.
