Saz and Dave's travels
After another great breakfast at 'Little Tibet' restaurant we bartered with a tuk tuk driver to take us to the hilltribe museum just out of Chiang Mai. However after about 10 minutes, clouds of smoke started to billow out of the engine and we had to pull over while the driver atempted a botch repair job, pouring pond water into the radiator! This was no good so we finished off the journey in a taxi thankfully.
The hill tribe museum was in some kind of park with a large lake and had 4 floors, all packed with loads of interesting info, tools and clothes relating to all the different tribes such as the Karen and the Long necks. It was really empty so I don't think many tourists know about it but it was worth a visit. After looking round we went for a wander round the lake where we saw a couple of men taking their horses for a swim in a circle round and round them. All around the lake there were little shacks serving food, with bamboo platforms suspended above the water for people to sit on. We thought it looked a bit of a mess though- like a lakeside shanty town!
After a lazy afternoon, reading at the side of the lake, we went back, had a shower then went to the night bazzar one last time- we go back to Bangkok tommorow afternoon. This time I bought a top for a quid then we hurried past the dodgy 'hostess' bars to get a hotdog, crisps and orios from the 7-11 shop (so good but not very authentic!).
Today as you may notice Dave was very good and succeded in limiting his Chang intake and had .... NO CHANG !!!.
