We all stayed up late until 2pm for the shuttle bus to take us to the airport as we had to catch a flight to Auckland scheduled at 6am from Melbourne. I stayed awake throughout the day and night as I thought it was not worth it to go sleep for just 3 hours confusing my body clock so I just chatted with other people in the hostel such as Bernie, she shares the same dorm with us and from Ireland, Dublin. I felt a bit sorry for her because she came to Melbourne with her friend but they had difficulties such as her friend preferring to stay in and read whereas Bernie likes to go out and party so they went separate ways. I asked her how she feels being alone with no travelling companion but she said she prefers that way just because she can do stuff her way. Eventually after taking some photos and last minute packing, we all went to the airport, flying off impeccably on time of 6am arriving in Auckland around 11am, we got our bags and transferred to domestic airport from intentional airport to catch the connecting flight to Christchurch at 16.45. While we were hanging around at the airport waiting for the flight, we were laughing when we discovered that our flight was delayed to 22.05 but we weren't laughing when it got delayed again to 00.30. Around that time we started to lose our patience by boredom seeing that we have been waiting for nearly 12 hours in the same terminal. We tried to pass our time by browsing the shop but that soon got tiring when we kept visiting the shop repeatedly like five times and making the most of the free Internet but with a huge queue, we all had to be fair only using it three times with 15 minutes slots. At least we got offered vouchers of $8 dollars value to buy refreshments as an apology for the delays. I didn't sleep at all as the floor we camped on was uncomfortable with a bunch of another people being stuck down with delays but Ashley managed to sleep throughout the delays, I decided to enquire why there was delays popping out continually when I was told that the snow was at fault being the worst in Christchurch. Few moments later, I was told that our flight was delayed again to 01.45! We all were tired and had become sick of the airports, we opted to go upstairs to the gates just because we wanted a change of scenery after staying in the airport for the total of 13 hours with 42 hours of no sleep in my case. You can see the picture shown of Asher being worn out resting his head on me!
