Subway to the blue mountain was two hours long one way, it was worth the long journey from the bustling city of Sydney to rural immaculate blue mountains. We arrived at katikoomba station where they have some shops around and it was the main place to access other sights such as three sisters and famous train ride shown above on the picture. We went in a tourist information and researched on leaders of tours they offer to get around the blue mountain main sights then the lovely woman who worked there said it would be better and cheaper if we got normal bus which comes every 30 to 45 minutes. She guided us to the bus stop and we discovered that we only needed to buy 2 dollars each of journey we take which was quite a good deal as the tours on offer was slightly more expensive at 25 dollars upwards. We got on the bus and the bus driver was lovely as he said to some of us "we don't take 50 dollars for one fare" we all were like duh me'! Luckily i had perfect two dollars coin but dominic had to run to the nearest shop for change, the bus driver gladly waited for him. Our first stop which was the scenic world where they have magnificent views of three sisters mountain and landscapes. We all took in the views and went on the famous train ride which was 52 degrees steep! I took the picture which definitely looks like something from the horror movie! It was fast but not too fast for us to take pictures :-) we got to the bottom which was in the forest with some underground views such as miners hole, we walked for around 10 minutes stopping at times to read the interesting facts about the trees and living organisms around the forest. We followed the directions to be at the cable car area in order for us to get back to the top of the mountain. We got the bus to our intended stop for chocolate factory but once we arrived it was so small, middle of nowhere and we realised that we would probably go to original chocolate factory in Dunedin, New zealand later on in our travels so we stayed on the bus and got off back at katikoomba as we wanted to go to leura which was apparently was the main shopping town by bus but was recommended to go on train as more quicker therefore we got on train from katikoomba to leura. The minute we got off the train we knew that we shouldn't have got off because it was a town that seemed like it was stuck in 1960s! There was shops around but it was full of dead animals and furniture which all of us can safely say we weren't interested in these things. Unfortunately the train cones every hour towards Sydney so we had 45 minutes to kill...we were elated to see there was a signpost spelling out leura mall which we thought was a mall....after walking following the signpost, we were deflated to discover that leura mall was not a mall at all, it was a stupid street! We all were a bit annoyed with leura town as it was seriously expensive and unsuitable for budget travellers therefore we walked back to main town in the cold weather. We saw a Woolworths store which is a food store so we decided to grab a snack to eat on train which would be 2 hours back. Once we was on train I was happy to leave that town! Finally we arrived at sydney and went to hard rock cafe once again! My dessert was a mint aero ice-cream! :-)
