This morning we woke up to our last morning in Paris. The only area we hadn't really got to yet was Montmartre, home of the Moulin Rouge, Sacrè-Coeur and the annoying string men.
First up Sacré-Coeur, located up on the hill with sweeping views of Paris before it, this church is always flooded with tourists taking in not just the building but also the view. After heading though the main hall we went down into the Crypt, which is really more of a church under the main structure, before climbing up to the top of the tower gain an even better view of Paris. From here all the main sights are visible; the Tower, Arc, Notre Dame etc..and after squeezing up through the tight spiral staircase it's well worth the climb.
From here with plenty of time on our hands we opted for a well paced walk back towards the hotel and our bags. A short distance away is the Moulin Rouge which to be honest is a little underwhelming in the daytime, i'm guessing you need bright lights against the dark night for it to really impress. Oh well, at least we ticked that box off our list!
Upon coming across Parc Monceau we figured it would be a magnificent place to lay down in the grass and relax with a nap while the Paris sun was still shining.
Next stop....Munchen! So it's off to the station for the overnight train, if only we had a sleeper carriage.......
