Whoever invented five am wake up calls should be shot, drawn and quartered, raked over hot coals and generally treated really badly. These early mornings are getting harder and harder as the trip goes on. We have to vacate our hotel by six and catch the six thirty cable car down to the bay to catch the six fifty boat to Naples. Capri is just beautiful. We started early and went to Anacapri which is another town above Capri and from there took a chair lift to the top of the island. The chair lift was just that, a single chair attached to a cable going up the mountain. You wouldn't want to be afraid of heights. But the view was marvelous. We had a lazy day today. We had to have our bags out by eight fifteen but since we had nowhere to be, we could have a sleep in. Then we wandered Sorrento and ate ice-cream and shopped. We had the opportunity for a lay in this morning, with our first excursion starting at nine thirty. Personally I'd have skipped it. We took a drive up to Amalfi, on the coast, which was a beautiful town in a beautiful area. But with the overcast weather and the long trip, not to mention we only had an hour and a half to have lunch and explore, I don't really think it was worth the trouble.
