Hey, In Sydney now and it is really cool. Our last night in Melbourne was really fun too- we went to the Neighbours night and it was hysterical! It was absolutely packed out. The 'stars' came out to a raptuous welcome from the 99% british crowd of Neighours saddo fans such as ourselves! We were very disappointed not to see Dr Karl but we did see Toadie and Boyd and some new character that we didn't know. There was a quiz (which we sadly didn't win) and the stars came round for photos whilst this was going on. Got some beaut photos of us with them which i'll put on the site at the weekend. All in all it was an extremely drunken affair which i was seriously regretting the next morning on our flight to Sydney. It was a hideously bumpy landing at it would be fair to say even the thought of wine is still making me feel a bit on the pale side! Our first afternoon in Sydney was a complete write off due to the after effects of the Neighbours night but we went on a sight seeing mission yesterday. We saw the harbour bridge and the Opera house. The Opera house looks cool from far away and we were all really excited about being in Sydney. It looks a bit more sixties and old fashioned close up but its really cool to see. We then took a stroll around the Botanic Gardens which were very pretty. There were loads of cool parrots in the trees too and thousands of fruit bats hanging in the trees - not the place to go if you have a slight phobia! This morning we went to Bondi Beach. It was quite cloudy and cold when we got there so we just amused ourselves looking at the surfers. the beach is gorgeous but a bit smaller than I had imagined. We then took a coastal walk that took us past lots of other beaches until we got to Coogee beach. By the time we got to Coogee the sun was beaming down and so we thought it was absolutely gorgeous. We sat down for a while and relaxed until the wind picked up and we got cold again! We are climbing the Sydney harbour bridge tomorrow which should be really fun and the views should be amazing. xx
