Hey, After two very long bus journeys we are in Byron Bay and it is absolutely gorgeous. The beach seems to go on for ever and the water is crystal clear. We spent one night in Port MacQuarie which was nice. We are travelling around by Greyhound bus now so we had to get up nice and early to get there but it was a sweet little town. We went to a Koala hospital there which was really nice. They look after Koalas that have been hit by cars or burnt in bush fires. The ones we saw were mostly recovered and seemed nice and happy living in the trees at the Koala hospital. Still want a Koala they are so cute!. Yesterday we just wandered around the town a bit and then got on a nice long 8 hour bus journey up to Byron Bay! Though I did manage to spot a kangaroo hopping along so that kept me happy (sorry Nik!). We got here fairly late so didn't bother doing much but we have a nice group of girls in our room so we are hoping to experience the night life tonight. It is absolutely scorching so we have been on the beach this morning sunbathing but we have decided to be sensible and come in for a few hours as we dont want to frazzle ourselves on the first day - we do still have 2 1/2 months of sunbathing weather to come so there is no rush! xx
