Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hi,
Still in Iguazu having a cool time. Yesterday we went to the Argentinian side of the waterfalls. We went off from the hostel in the funniest little bus that looked like it belonged in a museum. It had park benches instead of proper seats and died going up the smallest of hills! The bus driver was a bit of a comedian though so it was quitean interesting journey. As soon as we got to Argentina he got out his Boca Junior football club flags and he was beeping his horn and waving his flag at everyone he saw so it was quite funny.
The Argentine side of the falls is even more amazing than the Brazilian side. On the Brazilian side you get an overview of the falls but on the Argentine side you get really close to them. They have built massive walkways over the water so you can stand right at the top of the main falls (the devils throat) and see all the water rushing down. YOu get really wet from the spray but it is an amazing sight.
We went on a boat trip that went right under one of the smaller falls. It was so fun - we got absolutely soaked but it was worth it as it was so weird to be under a waterfall. It was so powerful, it was like being under thousands of showers. Our boat driver was a maniac too and took us under loads of times but it was fun. We then went down some rapids which was cool but we got absolutely soaked again - and then unfortunately the sun went in and it started to rain so we were freezing as well as wet!
Been relaxing by the pool today - its a hard life!
