Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hey,
We have left Brazil now and are in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Our last few days at Iguazu were really good as we just relaxed, went to visit Itaipu dam and went to a bird park - dont know what i was thinking as im terrified of birds and the park consisted of massive avaries with all the birds fly ing around your head. Basically a nightmare for me but the birds were really pretty so that made it a bit easier!
We then had a 19 hour bus ride to Buenos Aires which was a lot better than it sounds. The seats were really comfy and reclined really far and they fed us and we even got champagne - it tasted rubbish but we had it for novelty value!
We were pretty zonked out yesterday though and didnt do much. Today we went on a bike tour of the south part of Buenos Aires. It was really amazing and our guide told us loads of interesting things.
We visited the Boca district, where the Boca Juniors football team are from and we saw their stadium. Its a really poor area around there but it was really cool as all the houses were painted really brightly different colours and there were loads of little restaurants, painters and people tangoing.
We then carried on our tour and saw the Casa Rosada and the baclony where Evita did her famous speeches - i have to keep reminding myself that she did speeches and didnt stand singing "dont cry for me Argentina".
The tour was 3 hours long but was quite sedate so im hoping i'll stil be able to walk tomorrow!
