After breakfast we took the metro into downtown LA it was very eye opening felt intimidating with lots of weirdos shouting swearing & making us feel uneasy, there was also a lot of homeless around the Hollywood area which you don’t see this side on the tv so we were unprepared really. We went to the US bank tower which has Californias tallest open air viewing platform where they have opened a glass slide at over 1000ft above downtown LA I had bought Kurt a slide pass for Christmas so he used that as I filmed him, we had a cocktail in the observation bar & took some great pics of the city. We then headed up to the Griffith’s observatory we hiked up the trail through the park & into the hills it was pretty intense because it was red hot. The views from the top were amazing, you could see for miles to the Pacific Ocean & a close up view of the Hollywood hills & the famous sign! Entry into the observatory is free & there was so much to see we didn’t really have enough time there as we needed to get back but I loved the overall gradure of the building & the prominence it held above the city. We got back to the hotel & had a few drinks whilst getting ready for the gig at Hollywood bowl, I had bought tickets for Kurt for his birthday to see Yeah Yeah Yeah’s & LCD Soundsystem! The most iconic concert venue on the west coast a natural auditorium so the sound was amazing. We had such a great night!
