Apart from a very abrupt moody driver, the journey to Mui Ne from HCMC was nice and smooth. Was meant to get dropped off at my hostel, but instead had a 2km walk to get to it from where they dropped us all off. Would have been a really nice walk along the sea front if it wasn't for the 15kg bag on my back.
Checked into Mui Ne backpackers village and knew I had made a good choice. Rooms are all tiled, so looked a little like a prison, but the pool and bar/restaurant on site more than made up for it. Felt like being in a hotel. Great social seen as well which was great. Already starting to bump into people who are also heading north.
Mui Ne is a cute little beach place, lots of sea food restaurants, and it has a big kite surfing crowd.
Had an early night for the first night. Then yesterday got up early to sit by the gorgeous pool. Had deck chairs instead of sun beds, and as I sat in one it totally ripped and I fell straight through in front of everyone. Starting to think about going on a diet haha.
In the afternoon a load of us from the hostel went out to the white and red sand dunes. The white ones were the best, felt like I was in the desert. Hard work walking up them, but so much fun running down. It was a great afternoon.
A load of us again went out for dinner at this great place called Hill's Smokeria, which was recommended to us. The floor was all sand and there were old wind boards in the trees, had a great cheese burger.
Then we went out to a great club right next to the sea. Some of the best music I've heard in a long time. Met a guy that worked with my friend London as well, so random and such a small world!
Not too much of a late one as I'm up early today. Just about to board my bus to Da Lat. Heard the route can be a little rough so I've taken a sickness tablet in preparation. Wish me luck!
