Well we hit the road for the 8 hour drive to Agnes Waters. Drove for a couple of hours and then pulled over for the night and parked up at a place called the Leap Hotel. Not sure how it can be called a hotel. Was a shack on stilts, bar and toilets inside and then you park on the grass to the side of it for the night. It was also free, but to be far a pretty unique experience.
We thankfully survived the night and got back on the road. With stops and go-pro playing it took 9 hours to get to Agnes Waters. I've never used so many petrol stations in one day, we even checked the tyre pressure. I also had a slight incident on one fill up. I was trying so hard to round the petrol cost up, I hadn't noticed I'd actually overflowed and petrol was going all over the floor. Wanting to hind it from Chels I quickly poured water on it (don't ask why!). It then became this massive spill running across the petrol station and I had to go round throwing sand on it. We had a quick exit but after having visions of the news talking about a petrol station going up in flames we turned round so I could tell the lady inside what had happened. To which she said no worries and proceeded to put on her high-vis jacket, cone off the area and clean it up. Slightly embarrassed we got back onto the Bruce Highway.
Was dark by the time we arrived and found a campsite (Agnes Waters Caravan Park), expensive but it's right on the beach. Starved so we headed out in look for food and we found pizza - diets going great!
Looking forward to seeing this place in the day!
