So plans changed slightly last night. Ended up going doctors as I've got tonsillitis, not fun but got a prescriptions for some antibiotics.
So on the road, was dark by this point. Headed north for about 3 hours and then found a rest area for the night. Back on the road in the morning, this time we could see the landscape and it really is beautiful. Chels was pulled over for speeding haha, but some usual charm and we got off with a warning.
Another 3 hours driving and we arrived in Townsville! Picked up and started my tablets. Had some lunch and walked round a bit. Townsville is quite nice, just not much to do. So we have decided to keep going, we want to be in Whitsunday's by tomorrow :)
So back on the road we go!

Tim Hope those antibiotics are kicking in by now and that you're feeling a little better. You thwarted my plans to research where you were going ahead of your arrival. I'd already had a virtual look around Townsville and now need to research Whitsunday. Enjoy the day xxx
