So Hong Kong has been great, not been as cold as I thought it would be, which has been a nice surprise.
Ciara came and met me from the airport which was lovely, and we spent the train journey back into HK catching up and telling her some of my travel stories.
Dove straight in that Sunday and met up with two of Ciara's work friends, to all go up The Peak. Took the old tram (which is practically vertical) up to the look out point, and got to see the beauty that is HK. Spent that evening meeting some of Ciara's friends over a lovely bottle of wine.
Second day, was visa day! O my goodness, it is not easy to get to China, I've had a right pain trying to sort out visas and trains. Was there three hours in a waiting room with screaming kids. The form was so personal and by far the hardest visa process to date. Never the less, I have it now.
We had one day of just sight seeing. We went shopping in the morning, as I need some warm clothes for China. Then we went to this beautiful little peaceful garden, right in the middle of all these huge buildings. It's called Nan Lian Gardens, and me and Ciara loved just walking around. Right next to that was a temple, Chinese architecture is so different to anything I've seen, very beautiful. Then it was on to the avenue of stars, (didn't know any of the stars) which had more great views of HK skyline. We took the star ferry back to HK island, and Ciara took me to her favourite bar, Café Gray. 46 floors high, and we sat there drinking wine as HK fell into darkness and came alive with lights. Great way to end a great day.
Sadly, Ciara has been really poorly (Steve, if you read this I've used that word especially for you haha). So I've spent the last couple of days relaxing and looking after Ciara. Lots of Greys Anatomy.
But my time has come to leave, been so special seeing Ciara in her new life. I'm all packed and heading into my last country in the morning.
China here I come!!!!
