This return trip to Cairns was for mostly admin jobs; first off to the Travels Autobarn (our Campervan rental company) to ask for some guy ropes and pegs! The awning we can attach to the back of the van will not stand up without them; we were caught a little short in Cape Trib! They also managed to fix our wind mirror that was experiancign some willpower strength - any strong wind it would stick to the side of the van like a scared dog!!I'm not going to lie it was making fast road visibitily rather limited! The guys in the office also traded our rather crappy atlas with the incredible, amazing, FANDABBIEDOSIE "CAMPS 6"!!Now, you folk back in the "place the other side of the pond" otherwise better known as England (or Ireland!! Would hate to miss out the much loved Irish contingiency!)this book, which includes excellent road maps and city close ups, includes every FREE and cheap campsite in the whole of Australia! What more could a stingy back-packer type like myself want?!
Then to top the whole excellent experiance at Travelers Auto Barn they presented us with some cough medicine - A FREE BOTTLE OF WINE!! BOOOOOM!!
A few more errands and whiskys later we were back at the van tucking into dinner - the last of our kanga tomato dish.(Lucy you have truely converted me to the whisky! We have even purchased a bottle so we can drink it regluarly!! Blimey!)Yet another free wash at the public lagoon facilities before a natter on my brand new $20 Australian mobile to the family..... its seems like far too long since I saw their beautiful faces......
The deed has been done, the needle has been thred, the ring is in the nose!Yes people, finally I found the perfect ring and the perfect piercier. Now I know that some of you back home (dad) didn't necessarily agree with this decision.... but I assure you... the ring is soooo thin that you won't even be able to see a hole when I decide to take it out!The deed was a little painful to say the least, and dear Samuel looked on with a worrying sense of satisfaction as he took photos! But I can safely say I am very happy with the outcome and it is already virtually painless (1 day ago) - I will trim the ring when it is competely better so that it doesn't look quite so larrgeeeee.Enjoy the photo :D
