Wooroonooran National Park
580 KM 3 September 2011
I am not going to lie to all you honest folk back home - the reason me and Sam initally decided to stop here, was quiet simply because of the incredible name!I mean seriously - woo-roo-noo-ran?!hahah what drunken outback aboriginal thought up that one!?The national park is vast, as I am sure you will see if you have a wee looksie on the map.We entered near Nandroya Falls. We parked up the van and tucked into some rather tasty Pea and Ham soup.Hiking boots on we ventured towards the rainforsest... your not even going to believe this thou - no wheelchair access routes! It was a proper walk!Tree routes, gravel and slopes all good and dangerous!Just what we were after! On return from our 2 hour walk we were filled with excitement and pleased with our success; we saw 2 very beautiful waterfalls, one with considerable height and volume. The plung pool looked rather tempting, but what can I say, the rather pesistant rain made us turn back to our van and drive to a suitable camp spot.We selected a lay-by style area which was crocidile inhabited... excellent. The pee bottle was certinally going to get used this evening, couldn't risk a croc attack could I now?!There was a small incident however.... the pee bottle has been used by both Sam and myself during various unsafe and desperate situations. The van has no inbuilt toilet facilitles, and therefore I deemed it necessary to fit some myself.Unfortunaltey both Sam and I had adoped a slight complacent attitude to where exactly we used the pee bottle in the van. Please bare in mind the close circumstances we are in, the 2 sofas and closly hugging a teeny table, and this all converts into our bed. Now, on this particular occassion, I stupidly positioned myself and the bottle over Sam's side of the bed (or was that an accident...?!!?)I assume you can all guess how this story ends.... with my hysterical laughter, and Sams disgust and shock; that such a lovely girl could do such a nasty thing!!!
The rain carried on through the entire night and into the next morning. The weather is truely awful- simply can't believe it!I was expecting some tanning!I spent the night with ear plugs to try and block out the tin can amplified rain drops, whilst doging the slightly delicate nose ring!
