Unfortunately a big storm came through in the night, and the weather wasn't looking any better when we got up in the morning, nevertheless we decided to do a road trip and take in some of the sights of southern Sweden! First stop: Smygehuk, the most southern point of Sweden!! They had a couple tacky gift shops but also a fish restaurant and we had some traditional Swedish Herring which has been pan fried, then served ontop of a piece of rye bread with a tasty cream Fraiche sauce and diced red onions! It was really yummy!!
Next stop was an old castle, which unexpectedly had an ourdoor sculpture exhibition going on. It started pouring with rain so we borrowed jackets and went exploring the gardens and sculptures. There were even some from a Chinese artist, which were very cool. Along the way we found an umbrella which someone has lost, which came in handy for the rest of the day! :)
Next stop was a little fresh strawberry hut, with the most juicy and delicious local strawberries!! We also stopped by a gallery/ home deco store and a linen shop that weaves it's own fabric.
Then we went to Swedens Stonehenge!! Up on a hill by the coast is an old stone 'ship', which is also an old clock, and might possibly be made out if old grave stones! It was very cool though and had great views looking up and down the coast. Unfortunately the rain kept on coming and by the time we got back we were pretty wet!
We took the highway back to Skanor and had a Delicious Swedish dinner of smoked salmon filet, new potatoes, salad, and cooked veggies. It was so good I had to get seconds even though I was so full!
